Doyen Sidony's call (leader of the Seers), five of the primary ancient races unite to resist the Elder Dragons:
Seers: They are closely tied to the
Forgotten. They acted as guardians or intermediaries, belonging to this same pre-human era of Tyria. (They are also sometimes called 'Prophets')
Forgotten: Created by gods, but not the Six human Gods. They served older divine entities (linked to the Dragons or to primordial forces). When they were discovered by the Six Gods upon their arrival, The
Forgotten were already there protecting the world.
Dwarves: They are one of the oldest races. According to writings from the era of the original Guild Wars, they already occupied the Shiverpeaks long before the arrival of humans, having been created by the Great Dwarf.
Jotuns: This people once occupied monumental cities and possessed vast magical knowledge. They are the heirs of a civilization that existed during the previous Dragon cycle, long before the human Gods settled.
Mursaat: Known as the 'Keepers of the Flame', they already existed during the previous rise of the Dragons (roughly 10,000 years before the arrival of humans). They phased themselves out of existence to survive the dragon cycle, reappearing much later.
Seers begin experimenting to hide magic from the Elder Dragons and create first the Shadowstone, then the Bloodstone, to store their magic and hide it from the Elder Dragons.
Zhaitan,
Sidony suddenly withdraws the

Seers and the
Mursaat, with each side blaming the other for its origin. The
